If we are no longer decent, perhaps we are getting our facts wrong...
Studs Terkel is reported to have said, "I've always felt, in all my books, that there's a deep decency in the American people and a native intelligence — providing they have the facts, providing they have the information."
Decency is not exciting and doesn’t make headlines or increase viewers and our society has gotten to a point where it feeds on the anger and pain of others to the detriment of all else. I will never understand why people cannot be kind and respectful, charitable and helpful…it really isn’t that difficult.
